In the United States, the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in pregnant women has been reported to be 0.03% to 0.12%.1,2 In Mexico, in a third-level specialty hospital, the prevalence was 0.33%.3 Chronic kidney disease during pregnancy has been associated with higher risk of gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, polyhydramnios, intrauterine growth restriction, preterm birth, and low birth weight.3-5
