2020 Academy Member Benefits Update

  • Academy Member Services Team
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy) is the largest organization of food and nutrition experts in the world supporting more than 100,000 credentialed practitioners—registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs), nutrition and dietetics technicians, registered (NDTR), and other food and nutrition practitioners holding undergraduate and advanced degrees in nutrition and dietetics, and students. As the organization looks to the future, we continue to recognize that the needs of our members are constantly evolving. The Academy responds to those needs with an ever-expanding lineup of benefits designed to serve members whose backgrounds, interests, skills, and experience span the entirety of our diverse and dynamic profession. For members who want to develop their skills, advance their careers, and achieve their professional goals, the Academy provides professional publications, networking opportunities, promotional tools, professional development resources, political advocacy, and cutting-edge research and practice materials. And that is just the tip of the iceberg! With a variety of offerings, it can be difficult to keep track of all the benefits available to Academy members. To that end, this article provides an overview of some of the resources we provide, with brief descriptions of each of them. And because we want nonmembers to see what they are missing, we have made this article free to access through the Journal’s website at http://jandonline.org/.
