Because mentoring is recognized as being important, the Academy started offering mentoring programs. In addition, local and state dietetics associations have mentoring opportunities for registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) to mentor aspiring RDNs. The intent of this article is to present an overview of a peer mentoring program for the DI at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) to promote diversity within the dietetics field.
